Google is reportedly gearing up to introduce the Pixel 8a at the forthcoming Google I/O event. Fresh renders and promotional visuals, courtesy of Android Headlines, have provided a glimpse into what the Pixel 8a might bring. As per the report by Android Headlines, Google will integrate a few AI features into the Pixel 8a camera. The promotional materials reveal an “AI-mazing” Pixel camera, incorporating features like Best Take, Audio Magic Eraser, and Night Sight. This doesn’t come as a surprise as all these features have been part of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. Furthermore, the report reveals other AI features like Call Assist, enhancing call screening, email summaries, and the innovative Circle to Search function.
At the core of the Pixel 8a could be the Google Tensor G3 processor, which is expected to support fast charging capabilities ranging from 27W to 30W—a significant upgrade from the Pixel 7a’s 18W charging. Rumours also suggest that the smartphone could feature a display with 120Hz refresh rate. Not only that but a 256GB storage variant could also be in the offing.
In terms of pricing, the Pixel 8a is speculated to start at 518 USD (approximately Rs. 43,200) for the 128GB variant, while the 256GB model may be priced at 579 USD (approximately Rs. 48,290).
The Pixel 8a is anticipated to be released in a palette of colours including Obsidian (black), Mint (green), Porcelain (light beige), and Bay (blue). Each colour option is expected to be complemented by a matching silicon case.
We should get to know more about the Pixel 8a in the next few days leading up the official launch as Google is expected to announce at its annual developer conference later in May.
