Following a recent health scare involving veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, his son Salman Khan is reportedly upset with the authorities at Lilavati Hospital for allegedly sharing medical updates with the media without the family’s consent.

According to a Variety India report, Salman and his family have formally requested the hospital administration to refrain from disclosing any further information about Salim Saab’s health condition to the press. The family is said to be keen on maintaining complete privacy and preventing speculation surrounding Salim Khan’s medical situation.

As per the publication, a source close to the Khan family said, “Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers."

“Salman and his family were displeased with the doctor’s public statement and have clearly conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed," they added.

They also mentioned, “It can be understandable that there is immense public interest in Salim Saab’s well-being, but medical information is a confidential matter. The family wants to avoid any unnecessary speculation or media scrutiny surrounding Salim Khan’s condition."

This development indicates that the hospital may not release additional health bulletins regarding Salim Khan going forward.

Salim Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital on February 17, 2026, and is currently on ventilator support. On Wednesday, Dr Jalil Parkar addressed members of the media stationed outside the hospital and confirmed that Salim Khan had suffered a minor brain haemorrhage, following which a routine procedure was carried out.

The doctor said that Salim Khan was experiencing jerks and his blood pressure was high, but they treated him promptly. He was placed on a ventilator to prevent his condition from worsening, not because he was critical. The necessary investigations were carried out, and a small procedure was performed, though its details were not disclosed. He was said to be fine and stable, and had been shifted to the ICU.

He added that he would be taken off the ventilator by the next day and was doing quite well. However, given his age, it was acknowledged that the recovery process would take time.
