Mahindra XUV700 to get most powerful motors in 7-seater SUV segment

The Mahindra XUV700 is almost here. According to the leaks, production was supposed to start this month, but there is more. More leaks suggest that the 7-seater SUV will be powered by one of the most powerful motors in the segment.

We already know that the XUV700 is going to receive the same turbo-diesel mHawk and turbo-petrol mStallion as the Mahindra Thar. A report on Autocar, however, has now given us what the engines will be capable of on the new SUV.

According to the report, the 2-litre mStallion petrol will be capable of producing about 200PS of maximum power while the 2.2-litre mHawk will churn out 185PS of maximum power. Both these figures are class leading with the recently launched Hyundai Alcazar producing 159PS and 115PS from the petrol and diesel engines respectively.

Aside from just the engines, the Mahindra XUV700 will come loaded up with segment leading features. Things like dual-screen infotainment system, adaptive headlamps, flush door handles and even ADAS based driving aids.

The XUV700 will also get most other standard features such as six and seven seat layouts, electronic parking brakes, multiple driving modes and even a biggest in segment panoramic sunroof called skyroof.

The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to be unveiled later this month with the price announcement being made sometime in August.
