When it initially launched the iPhone 15, Apple had promised the battery would last 500 charging cycles while retaining 80 percent of battery health.

The company is now saying that the estimate has doubled. Apple says the iPhone 15 can retain 80% of their battery health even after 1000 charging cycles.

According to Engadget, the revised estimate can be achieved without any hardware or software updates and coincide with new EU regulations that will see energy grades being assigned for a smartphone's battery longevity.

The new estimates were announced after the company retested the long-term battery health of the iPhone 15 series and found the phones could last longer than they had initially thought. Apple will update all of its support documents with the new figures.
