Indian government to launch AI programme in April

The AI platform will feature "one of the largest publicly assembled datasets in the world.”
- Speaking at the inaugural edition of the Moneycontrol India Fintech Conclave on March 7, Chandrasekhar said, "The programme will be one of the largest publicly assembled and available data sets in the world. Working with the fintech ecosystem, it will certainly catapult and catalyse the next generation of fintech and other parts of the Internet."
- The India AI programme, also known as the National Data Governance Framework Policy, was also announced by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her Budget speech on February 1.

DuckDuckGo hops aboard the AI bandwagon
The company will partner with OpenAI and Anthropic to enhance its Instant Answer feature.
- Called DuckAssist, it is an enhancement of the Instant Answer feature of the search engine that pools a list of pre-determined sources to answer your queries.
- DuckDuckGo said that during the initial trials, it is limiting the assistant to DuckDuckGo's app or browser extensions. Additionally, the source has also been limited to Wikipedia, for now.

Wang Xing, the billionaire founder will throw financial weight behind fellow co-founder Wang Huiwen's new AI startup.
- The billionaire becomes the latest Chinese tech executive to throw his weight behind the quest to top OpenAI’s creation, which has taken the global industry by storm since its November debut.
- “The AI model makes me excited about the huge productivity that will be created, but also worried about its future impact on the whole world,” said Wang, who rarely posts on WeChat and prefers a social media service he himself founded years ago.

Microsoft Edge can now upscale web videos using your GPU and machine learning

Microsoft is testing a Video Super Resolution feature in the latest Edge Canary builds.
- Super resolution uses your GPU in conjunction with graphics card agnostic algorithms to remove artifacts and upscale web video to a higher resolution for a sharper, cleaner image.
- The feature is currently limited to a small set of users on Edge's Canary preview builds but Microsoft will slowly roll out the feature to more users.
