Google+ starts user verification

Just like Twitter has its verification program for celebrities, public figures and in general, famous people, Google+ has rolled out a similar badge system. Now, such celebrities, public figures and famous people who have literally masses in their circles, can now verify their identities with a check mark and a small badge rolls out on their profile. Google's Wen-Ai Yu wrote in a blog post that for now, they're only focussing on 'famous' people, but eventually, regular users will be able to verify their identities, as well.

The point of this feature is to feel more comfortable with who you add to your circles. The badge system will help you see who the real Shahrukh Khan is so that you can add him to your circles. Google+ also has a policy of no fake identities on the network and these two systems should help users find the real identites of their favourite famous people.
