Sahara had filed an inuction suit against Netflix for using the name of tainted businessman Subrata Roy in its upcoming documentary series named Bad Boy Billionaires.
Sahara Chief Subrata Roy and two other group directors will have to surrender to custody within a week, with the Supreme Court today terminating the "interim arrangements" of granting parole to them.
Subrata Roy has been in Tihar jail since March 4, 2014 on the orders of the apex court in relation with a long running dispute with market regulator SEBI.
Roy's son Seemanto Roy said his father's decision to not appear before the court has been emotional but he "willfully surrendered today as he is law abiding citizen." The SC had ordered a non-bailable warrant against Roy on Wednesday.
Beleaguered Sahara chief Subrata Roy requested the Supreme Court to put him under house arrest with his ailing mother in Lucknow.
CNBC-TV18's Ashmit Kumar reports that the Sahara group has resorted to yet another advertising campaign with focus on the group's social activities as the date for SEBI's summons nears.
