The Andhra Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (APTRANSCO) has planned a transmission network of 3,830 MVA capacity around the capital city to meet the anticipated demand, it said.
"Companies pointed out that recent state policies or FIT (feed-in tariff)...reflected their antipathy to wind versus solar energy and key incentives AD (accelerated depreciation) and GBI (Generation Based Incentives) expiring in FY 2017 could lead to a downward spiral for wind installations from FY 2018," it said.
Uday is the most comprehensive assessment for the power sector, he said adding it is a bottoms-up approach, which is why every state has almost accepted it and the rest will come in line after elections.

A transparent process for auction was evolved using IT applications and an estimated revenue of Rs 1,71,961 crore was likely to be raised from 29 coal mines already auctioned.
Coal India may miss its output target of 507 million tonnes (MT) by 10 MT, during the current fiscal, on account of various delays in operationalising mines. However, the government may set a target of 550 MT coal output for Coal India in the next financial year (2015-16).
During a discussion in Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said while the estimates of CAG with regard to coal mines was around Rs 1.86 lakh crore in relation to 200 mines, auctions of 32 mines alone has yielded around Rs 2 lakh crore.
Of this, USD 100 billion was planned to be used in the renewables, USD 50 billion in transmission and distribution sector, USD 60-70 billion in the power generation sector and USD 25 billion for the modernisation of old plants among others.
Power Minister said India should not remain an importer of thermal coal for power plants but be in a position to supply to the world and increase its own power generation capacity significantly.
The government has set an ambitious target of achieving coal production of nearly 1 billion tonnes in the next four years. "Coal production in the last four years has hardly been growing by 1-1.5 per cent. I have an ambitious target of nearly a billion tonnes in the next four years," Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal told reporters.
