Apart from looking for partners for specific projects, the company will consider an equity partner for SunEdison's India business as a whole, Pashupathy Gopalan, president of SunEdison Asia Pacific, said by telephone from New York.
"SunEdison has signed a long-term PPA with TPDDL to provide 180 MW of utility-scale solar power for the people of New Delhi," SunEdison's president of Asia-Pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa Pashupathy Gopalan said at a press conference.
The Tamil Nadu government's solar policy isn't working out as per plan. According to the policy, heavy power consumers were to meet 6 percent of their total power consumption from solar energy by January 2014.
