The demand for Honda Activa, which is currently available in 100cc and 125cc variants, is on an upswing, despite the availability of wider alternatives in the electric two-wheelers (E2W) market, says a company official. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is looking to sell 5.4 million units during this financial year.
The total sales rose to 4,92,047 units last month as against 3,29,393 units in the same month last year, it added.
The initiative enables customers to acquire an extended warranty within a flexible window of 91 days to ninth year from the date of vehicle purchase, the two-wheeler major said in a statement.
The company had sold 3,52,893 units in May 2022, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement.
Bajaj Auto reported a 95 percent jump in sales in the domestic market. TVS Motor saw domestic sales surge 29%, while Suzuki recorded 23% year-on-year growth. Hero MotoCorp, however, disappointed on all counts.
The voluntary recall covers the 2022 model of the CB300R.
This is thanks to healthy uptick in urban markets, pent-up demand, impending price hike of vehicles, launch of new models, and easing of the chip shortage.
