The first devices infected by the "Dark Horse Program" were in December 2018 and carried out until October 2019.
The phone was unveiled in Nigeria with international availability yet to be confirmed.
The Gionee Max is priced at Rs 5,999 in India and is available in a single 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant.
The Gionee Max will be priced under Rs 6,000 in India.
Gionee has also confirmed that the device will pack a massive 5,000 mAh battery.
"In 2018, we are looking to be among top 5 smartphones brands in India. We will increase marketing spend this year by approximately 30 per cent compared to investment made last year.
The company is expected to unveil as many as eight new smartphones on November 26 and it is expected that the S11 model will be one of them.

"The A Series is rooted to the growing demand of high quality smartphone photography experience," Gionee India Director (Business Intelligence and Planning) Alok Shrivastava said.
"Gionee A1 is our first flagship of the year and we have received as many as 74,682 units pre-orders worth around Rs 150 crore in the first ten days, till April 9, 2017. The pre-booking figures, the highest for any phone in the Rs 8,000-25,000 range," Gionee India Country CEO and MD Arvind R Vohra told PTI.
Handset maker Gionee today said it is firm on its plans manufacturing mobile phones in India despite disruptions due to demonetisation.

BeatRoute Innovations, a startup that focuses on facilitating last-mile trade between packaged goods companies, distributors and neighbourhood stores, is launching a cashless transaction service for traders and distributors to ease their hardship.
Last year, the company invested about Rs 125 crore in the first phase of the assembling unit that has monthly capacity of over one million phones.
The manufacturing unit will be set up over around 50 acres in Faridabad and will provide employment to over 28,000 people in the next three years, Gionee said in a statement.
Chinese handset maker Oppo has partnered with Reliance Jio for the latter's 'Welcome Offer' that will give free data services to users till the end of the year.
Set up in partnership with Compal Electronics, the facility in Greater Noida will have an initial capacity of 60,000 units a month. This will be ramped up to 2,00,000 by the end of December.
The move comes within days of the telecom operator partnering handset makers like Gionee, Karbonn and Lava to reach out to potential customers in the country.
The owner of 4G-compliant handset from any of these brands needs to carry it to Reliance Digital stores, including Digital Xpress and Digital Xpress Mini, and other retail stores for a free SIM.
"We are in process of getting land in northern India. The 50-acre unit have an annual capacity of 30 million units. It should be operational in about two years," Gionee India MD and CEO Arvind Vohra told PTI.
The Chinese company, which plans to launch four new smartphones by mid-October, also aims to expand its market share in India to 7-10 percent by next March.
Gionee sources about 30-40 percent of the handsets sold in the country from two domestic vendors, while the rest are imported.
"We are expecting to garner a market share of seven to eight per cent during this fiscal. To meet this, the company will heavily focus on retail presence in the Indian market," Arvind Vohra, CEO & MD of Syntech Technology, said.
