Aircraft lessors, including Pembroke Aviation, Accipiter Investments Aircraft 2 Ltd, EOS Aviation, and SMBC Aviation, filed a writ with the Delhi High Court, seeking directions to release the planes leased to the financially distressed airline.
In a case where a lessor has been seeking de-registration of aircraft leased to SpiceJet, the Delhi High Court today granted the carrier time till April 7 to settle the dispute with its lessor, AWAS Ireland
Terming the decision a legacy of the December crisis, SpiceJet COO Sanjiv Kapoor said the carrier would take action to "protect itself" and said it was talking to lessors.
