The major indicator, inflation, has seen an upwards trend in the US. So Adrian Ash, Editor Gold News and Head of Research, BullionVault says the Federal Reserve will not be able to justify a rate hike.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Adrian Ash said that gold at the moment is fundamentally associated with political risk, the Brexit referendum and US Presidential race should prove to provide safer haven for gold.
Ash says in the speculative trading markets like futures and options, there is strong betting that silver prices will inch up further. He, however, would not expect silver to cross USD 17 per ounce for now.
The continuing crash in gold prices has brought out the bears in full force. Prices are ruling around USD 1,200 per ounce, and in the domestic markets, Friday saw the metal lose Rs 1,150 per 10 gm in Delhi – hitting a 23-month low of Rs 25,650.
