Counting trends show Congress is leading in the Rajasthan assembly election, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is trailing by a distance.
As of 4:00 pm, Congress is leading in 107 seats while BJP is ahead in 68 seats. Others including independent candidates are leading in 24 seats.

State Revenue Minister Amra Ram loses the Pachpadra seat to Congress candidate Madan Prajapat by a margin of 2,395 seats, PTI reports.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) attributed the BJP’s poor performance in the elections to its “arrogance” and said the results would predict a “farewell” for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections, News18 reported. Party spokesperson Nawab Malik blamed the central government’s “anti-people and anti-farmer” policies for the defeat.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje retained the Jhalrapatan seat, beating Manvendra Singh by 45,000 votes. State Congress President Sachin Pilot won from Tonk by a margin of more than 50,000 votes, while Ashok Gehlot was victorious from Sardarpura by over 30,000 votes, according to NDTV.

leads tally at 101. BJP was leading in 71 seats while others including independent candidates were leading in 20 seats.

As of 9:30 am, Congress widened its lead to 90 seats. BJP was leading in 64 seats, while others were ahead in 17 seats.

As of 9:00 am, Congress was leading in 52 seats, while BJP was in lead in 42 seats. Others were ahead in 9 seats.

As of 8:45 am, Congress was leading in 33 seats, BJP in 22 seats while the others including independent parties are leading in 2 seats.
Early trends also show that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is taking lead in her home constituency, Jhalarapatan.
The results today will seal the fates of 2,274 candidates who contested the elections. Due to the death of one candidate, elections were countermanded in one seat, effectively making it an election for 199 seats.
To form a government in the state, any party will need to win 100 seats.
Rajasthan saw a 74.21 percent voter turnout in 2018 with Pokaran constituency in Jaisalmer district recording the highest turnout of 87.47 percent. The lowest turnout was in Marwar Junction of Pali district. The polling percentage of female voters was higher (74.66 percent) as compared to male voters (73.80 percent).
Nearly 20,000 government staff will be deployed for counting of votes in Rajasthan. Counting will take place at 35 centres, including two centres each in Jaipur and Jodhpur, Rajasthan Chief Election Officer Anand Kumar told reporters.
