Reiterating the BJP-led government's commitment towards creating a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed saffron party 's manifesto a step in that direction. PM's comments came after the party released its sankalp patra for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The saffron party's sankalp patra envisions economic growth, sustainable development goals, improvements in the ease of living and doing business, enhanced infrastructure, and bolstered social welfare initiatives. He added that the sankalp patra will play a vital role in making India self-sufficient and an eco-friendly nation.
During his speech at the BJP headquarters, PM credited the government schemes and programmes for “transformation that has taken place in the lives of the people” and called it “the biggest achievement of our government over the last 10 years.”
'Viksit Bharat 2047' is the ruing BJP government's roadmap to making India a completely developed nation by 2047.
The PM has also credited the “trust and support” that voters placed in him for the government being able to take “historic and major decisions” such as the implementation of GST, Abrogation of Article 370, a new law on Triple Talaq, Nari Shakti Vandan Act and strong steps against terrorism and Left-Wing Extremism.
A key component of this initiative is the ambitious goal of elevating India to the rank of the world's third-largest economy within the next five years, contingent upon the NDA assuming power once more.
Reportedly, 10 groups of secretaries are working out a detailed plan to make India Viksit Bharat by 2047. Among the 10 strategy groups, the Finance and Economy group is steered by the Finance Secretary and also comprises representation from NITI Aayog.
PM Modi is seeking a third term in office and has set a target of winning over 400 seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies. The government’s development agenda and the promise of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 is a key poll plank of the BJP.
