Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 14 released the BJP's manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The "Sankalp Patra", titled "Modi's Guarantee: Developed India 2047", was released at the party headquarters in New Delhi. It focuses on development, a prosperous India, women, youth, the poor, and farmers.
According to the manifesto, 2025 will be declared as the"Janjatiya Gaurav Year". Jan Jatiya Gaurav Diwas will be celebrated on Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s 105th birth anniversary.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president J P Nadda and other senior party leaders attended the launch of the "Sankalp Patra". The day also marked the birth anniversary of B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
“Our focus is on Nivesh se Naukri, our manifesto is the reflection of India’s Youth. We have proved that we have delivered on what we promised,” Prime Minister said.
According to PM Modi, the manifesto focuses on the "dignity of life" and the "quality of life", "the quantity of opportunity as well as the quality of opportunity". He said the manifesto focuses on four pillars of Viksit Bharat- women power, youth power, farmers and the poor.
One nation, one poll
One nation, one election and a common electoral roll system will be introduced.
Uniform Civil Code
The BJP reiterates its stand to draw a Uniform Civil Code, drawing upon the best traditions and harmonising them with the modern times.
Ram Mandir
The party plans to launch a global outreach programme for documenting the legacy of Lord Ram across the world. We will celebrate Ramayan Utsav with great fervour across the globe to commemorate
the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla," the BJP manifesto reads.
Health
Every senior citizen over the age of 70 years will be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. The transgender community will also be under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Food and agriculture
Free ration scheme will continue for the next five years, said the PM. The party also plans to launch the National Mission on natural farming to promote remunerative agriculture for food and nutrition security. Digital Public Infrastructure will also be developed to remove information asymmetry in agriculture and provide farmers solutions and services.
Employment
"On one hand, we have talked about creating a large number of jobs through building infrastructure. On the other hand, we are focusing on high value services by promoting startups and global centres," said PM Modi. Bharat's top-tier startup ecosystem will be expanded to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. "Further, we will transform Bharat into a global centre for high quality services including tourism to generate high value and diverse employment opportunities nationwide,"said the PM
Women
The manifesto guarantees to bring forward three crore more Lakhpati Didis. It aims to bring more awareness on cervical cancer, increased number of washrooms for women and the implementation of the Mahila Shakti Vandan Act.
Economy
The party aims to make the nation the third largest economy in the world.
It set the goal of making India a “global manufacturing hub". The party reinstated its commitment to increase employment, self-employment, and the enhancement of livelihood opportunities for Indian citizens.
Infrastructure
For social infrastructure, the BJP plans to open new education institutes, universities and medical colleges. For physical infrastructure, it aims at modernising highways, railways, airways and water ways across the country. "For digital infrastructure, we are expanding 5G, working on 6G," said the PM.
PM Modi said the work on the "Sankalp Patra" will begin immediately after poll results on June 4 . "The government has already started working on the 100-day action plan. The ambition of the people of the country is Modi's mission. We saw the success of Chandrayaan. Now we will experience the pride of Gaganyaan. We just saw India welcoming the world to the G20 and now we will make all efforts to host the Olympics," he said.
