Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on April 5 accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being involved in the liquor scam and alleged the saffron party has plotted conspiracies against his party colleagues.

Singh alleged many people have been questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor scam, and they didn’t name AAP leaders and that their statements changed only after there was pressure for arrest.

He said that the ED raided the premises of MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy on September 16, 2022, and he was continuously being threatened to give a statement against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Singh said the alleged pressure from the probe agency continued until February 10, 2023, when his son Raghava Magunta Reddy was arrested.

“Manguta Reddy gave three statements, and his son gave six statements in which Arvind Kejriwal’s name was not mentioned anywhere. After spending five months in jail, Raghava Reddy was forced, and he named Kejriwal on July 16, 2023, and got bail on July 18, 2023,” said Sanjay Singh.

Raghava Magunta Reddy is an accused-turned-approver in the Delhi excise policy case. His father Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy got a Lok Sabha ticket from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), which is a BJP ally in Andhra Pradesh.

Srinivasulu got a ticket from Ongole in Andhra Pradesh.

Singh said that people arrested in the excise policy case never named Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal in all their statements and said ten statements of Sarath Reddy, one of the accused, were recorded.

Sarath Reddy was given bail soon after he agreed to name Arvind Kejriwal, and the statements given by him were always taken as unreliable by the federal agency, he alleged.

Sanjay Singh also alleged the BJP has taken Rs 55 crore as a bribe from Sarath Reddy after his bail, and this shows the saffron party was making money from people.
