How to make UPI payments using credit card in 5 simple steps
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has changed how people make digital transactions in India. While debit cards have long been used to set UPI PINs linked to bank accounts, users can now also make payments directly using RuPay credit cards. Here’s how you can link and use your credit or debit card for UPI transactions in five simple steps.
Open your UPI app Launch your preferred UPI-enabled app such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM. Go to your profile or payment settings to manage your payment methods.

Verify and set your UPI PIN You’ll receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to verify your card. Once authenticated, create a new 4- or 6-digit UPI PIN for your card. This PIN will be used specifically for credit card-based payments.

Scan and pay To make a payment, scan any UPI QR code at a merchant outlet. On the payment screen, choose your linked credit card or bank account, enter your UPI PIN, and confirm the payment
