Terrorists ambushed a convoy of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, on May 4, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to four others, officials reported.

The attack occurred near Shahsitar in the Surankote area around 6:15 pm as the troops were on their way back to their base at Sanai Top, PTI has reported.

"The injured troops have been airlifted to Command Hospital, Udhampur for further treatment," said the Security Forces’ officials.

According to reports, five soldiers sustained injuries in the terrorist gunfire and were promptly evacuated to a hospital. Tragically, one of the critically injured personnel succumbed to their injuries.
