As the countdown to the historic Ram Mandir consecration ceremony on January 22 begins, Ayodhya is undergoing rapid transformations and is getting ready to welcome a large number of tourists.
To make Ayodhya a net zero carbon emission city, the government has deployed a fleet of twelve electric vehicles to cater to the needs of tourists with plans to add more such vehicles by January 22.
These electric vehicles are stationed at key points, including Ayodhya Cantt Railway Station, Ayodhya Dham Junction and Maharishi Valmiki International Airport to ensure a seamless travel experience for guests.
Dilip Pandey, local supervisor of the electric car taxi service in Ayodhya, stated, "These electric cars will be provided for all those who come here to visit Ram Mandir. You can find electric cars everywhere in Ayodhya now. Currently, there are 12 cars in the fleet which will be available for booking via a mobile application."
The purpose of the electric vehicles is to make it easier for tourists to visit holy spots such as Bharat Kund, Suraj Kund, Suryu River, and Ram Janambhoomi. These environmentally friendly rides include fares that range from Rs 250 for 10 km, Rs 400 for 20 km, to Rs 3,000 for a 12-hour ride.
Dilip Pandey also said that to handle the flood of visitors, extra electric cars will be brought in by January 22.
More electric vehicles will be placed in different parts of Ayodhya in the next few days; they will all be seamlessly linked to a mobile app so that reservations can be made at visitors' convenience.
