Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was admitted to a hospital on February 16 due to ill health, because of which she would not join Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (BJNY) in Uttar Pradesh's Chandauli.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Priyanka said that she was looking forward to receiving the yatra in the state but ended up being hospitalised. She also stated that she would join the yatra as soon as she feels better.

"I was really looking forward to receiving the BJNY in UP today but unfortunately, have ended up admitted to hospital. I will be there as soon as I am better! Meanwhile wishing all the yatris, my colleagues in UP who have worked hard towards making arrangements for the yatra and my sweet brother, all success as they reach Chandauli today," she said.

Earlier today, former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi's yatra in Bihar's Sasaram. Yadav was seen driving the Congress leader and others in jeep as the yatra made its way through Sasaram. The RJD leader also acknowledged his ally in a post on X.

The yatra will be in Uttar Pradesh till the evening of February 25 with a two-day break on February 22 and 23.

The East-West Manipur-Mumbai Yatra traverses 6,700 km through 15 states and aims to highlight the message of “nyay” (justice) while meeting common people on the way.
