The Patna High Court has directed the Congress party to remove an AI-generated video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother, Heeraben Modi, from all social media platforms.

The order follows a political storm triggered by the Bihar Congress post, with the BJP accusing the party of insulting the Prime Minister's mother. The Congress countered, asserting that the video contained no disrespect toward Heeraben Modi.

Delhi Police had lodged an FIR following a complaint by BJP worker Sanket Gupta against an AI-generated "deepfake" video shared on the Bihar Congress unit's official X account. The video allegedly tarnished the reputation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother, according to officials.

Gupta, who serves as the convenor of the BJP's Delhi Election Cell, submitted the complaint on Friday at the North Avenue Police Station, claiming the clip violated laws, morality, and women's dignity.

Posted on September 10 from the Bihar Congress handle, the video has led to a case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to forgery, use of forged electronic records, intentional insult, defamation, and criminal conspiracy.
