With the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya reaching its last leg, seven brass flag poles, weighing over 5,500 kg, are being made at a factory in Ahmedabad.
A video has surfaced showing the making of the brass poles at Shree Ambika Engineering Works. “The brass-work of the under-construction Ram temple in Ayodhya is being done in our factory. The main component of this brass-work is the flag pole. We have been making flag poles (Dwaj Dands) as per Shastras for 81 years. It is a unique antenna that carries the energy of the universe to the garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) of Bhagwan (God)," Bharat Mewada, managing director of the company, said.
"Many considerations come into play while constructing these flag poles. Firstly, this temple is huge, and similarly, the flag pole is entirely made of brass. Each pole is 44-foot long and 9 inches in diameter and has a wall thickness of 1 inch.”
The longest pole the company ever made was 25 feet, and the heaviest one weighed 450 kg. The poles it is making now weigh a whopping 5,500 kg.
In addition to the poles, the hardware for the temple's doors, including hinges and locking systems, has also been sent to Ayodhya. Mewada expressed his happiness at being a part of this project and working for the Ram Mandir.
He also mentioned that this mammoth task was achieved with the help of a hardworking and cooperative staff of around 20 people.
