'Even setbacks must be wondering how he finds them': BJP mocks Rahul Gandhi as NDA leads in Bihar

Gandhi, for several months, has alleged that the NDA as well as the Election Commission, has been engaging in vote malpractice and "vote chori" that has ultimately led to NDA's victory in several places, including Maharashtra and Haryana.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT Cell Head Amit Malviya on Friday mocked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as NDA showed a clear lead in Bihar Polls - with counting still underway.

Taking to the microblogging site X, Malviya wrote, "Rahul Gandhi! Another election, another defeat! If there were awards for electoral consistency, he’d sweep them all. At this rate, even setbacks must be wondering how he finds them so reliably," he wrote.

Along with his tweet, Malviya also shared a graphic showing all the constituencies where Rahul Gandhi has had to suffer defeat.

This came after Gandhi, for several months, alleged that the NDA as well as the Election Commission, has been engaging in vote malpractice and "vote chori" that has ultimately led to NDA's victory in several places, including Maharashtra and Haryana.

The poll body, however, has refuted any such claims and has asked Rahul Gandhi to file a written complaint if that is the case.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav also echoed Gandhi's "vote chori" allegations. As trends in Bihar showed NDA leading in several places, Yadav said, "The game that SIR played in Bihar will no longer be possible in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, UP, and other places now because this electoral conspiracy has been exposed. From now on, we will not let them play this game. Like CCTV, our 'PPTV' meaning 'PDA Sentinel' will stay vigilant and thwart the BJP's intentions. BJP is not a party, it is deceit."

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also spoke about the early trends. "The women voters were certainly given some incentives just before the Code of Conduct. Whether we like it or not, unfortunately, that is legal under our laws...I am afraid this is not the first time that we have seen State Govts doing such things, of giving benefits to certain segments of society...I don't think it's a healthy practice but we saw something quite similar in Maharashtra as well as other seats in the past...Anyway, let's analyse the results in detail..."
