Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his campaign for the Maharashtra Assembly Election with a rally in Dhule on Friday. In his address, PM Modi said that he has a deep-rooted connection with Maharashtra and emphasised on speedy development of the state.
Slamming the Maha Vikas Aghadi, PM Modi said that everyone was fighting in the alliance for driver’s seat. In a sharp swipe, he remarked ‘ek hain toh safe hain.’ PM Modi’s campaign, which began in northern Maharashtra will continue with another rally in Nashik later in the day.
Speaking at the Dhule rally, PM Modi pledged that only a BJP-led government could deliver the stability and governance essential for Maharashtra's growth. “We see people as a form of god, while some enter politics only to exploit them,” Modi remarked. He further assured, “The progress Maharashtra has achieved over the past two-and-a-half years will not be allowed to lose momentum.”
