6,670 new COVID-19cases (including 2,147 in Bengaluru Urban), 101 deaths and3,951 recoveries reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases rises to 1,64,924, including 77,686 active cases, 84,232 recoveries and2,998 deaths.
Maharashtra reports 10,483 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 300 deaths. Over 10,906 patients recovered from the disease and were discharged today, the state health department said. The case fatality rate in the state stands at 3.49 percent.

Kerala's COVID-19 tally breaches 30,000 mark; death toll climbs to 99
Kerala's COVID-19 tally breached the 30,000 mark on Friday as 1,251 fresh cases were reported, including of 18 health workers, while five more deaths took the toll to 99.
Of the 30,396 positive cases, 1,061 were infected through contact, while the infection source of 73 people was not yet known, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters here.
While 77 people had come from abroad, 94 had arrived from other states, he said.

The risk of COVID-19 spreading widely in Vietnam is "very high", its prime minister said on Friday, after a new outbreak in the central city of Danang late last month ended a three month run of no new domestic cases.
Aggressive contact-tracing, targeted testing and strict quarantining had helped Vietnam halt an earlier contagion, but it is now racing to control infections in Danang and beyond after a new outbreak was detected there on July 25.
"The risk of community infection is very high, requiring more determination, solidarity and responsibility from the political system in order to take stronger and more determined measures over the next two weeks," Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said, according a government statement.
Bihar reported its biggest single-day spike of 3,646 COVID-19 cases on Friday when the state health department also claimed to have conducted a record number of 71,000 plus tests in the last 24 hours even as the death toll touched the 400-mark.
According to the departments bulletin, out of the 12 fresh casualties, Patna district accounted for four, Vaishali reported two while one death each took place in Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Munger, Nawada, East Champaran and Saran.

Congress MLA and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Friday said he has tested positive for COVID-19.
Yathindra, who is 40-years-old, is a first time MLA, representing Varuna assembly constituency in Mysuru district.
His father and leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah had on Tuesday tested positive for COVID and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
