Pakistan has resorted to misinformation in the wake of the Operation Sindoor successfully carried out by the Indian armed forces in the early hours of May 7 that saw at least 9 terror hubs targeted and several killed.
The strike was in response to the dastardly terror attack carried out by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Pahalgam that led to the death of 26 Indian and Nepali civilians.
Independent fact-checkers highlighted some of the fake accounts involved in the spreading of Pakistani propaganda and misinformation through fake pictures and videos.
In a post on X, fact-checker Mohammed Zubair too shared a list of accounts that were pretending to be the real accounts of Indian armed force personnel.
Some of these accounts flagged as fake are:
-Admiral Arun Prakash (Retd) (@Arrunp2810)
- Colonel Hathi (@pinaka_av184)
- Aaravi (@MyselfAaravi)
- Maj Gen Bishamber Dayal (@IndianMajGen)
- Tejasswi Prakash (@Tiju0Prakash)

Some of the posts claimed that Islamabad targeted 15 locations in India in response to Operation Sindoor. Few other accounts claimed that the Air Force base in Srinagar has been hit by Pakistan without providing any credible evidence. Independent experts pointed out that these claims were not true.
Most of the accounts spreading these fake claims are aligned with Pakistan’s military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
#PIBFactCheckIn a video shared by several pro-Pakistan handles, it is being falsely claimed that the Pakistan Air Force has targeted the Srinagar airbase. The Press Information Bureau said the video shared is old and not from India. pic.twitter.com/NbdThwzdy0 All India Radio News (@airnewsalerts) May 7, 2025
The Press Information Bureau also pointed out that the reports of attack on Srinagar Air Force Base and Indian Brigade Headquarters are fake.
Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes early Wednesday on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, including Bahawalpur which is a stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit.
