After Delhi and the National Capital Region, Ahmedabad schools on Monday got bomb threats, according to reports .
Bomb disposal squads and SWAT teams of Ahmedabad Police are reportedly carrying out precautionary checks.
Personnel from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and state police are on the scene looking into the situation further. According to News18, a Russian handler sent the emails.
At least 100 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) received bomb threats via email last week.
On Wednesday morning, some 130 schools in the Delhi-NCR got bomb threat emails, which prompted pupils to quickly leave the premises. Investigation authorities claim that a server in Russia was the source of the message that was sent to schools in Delhi-NCR.
The emails' domain was linked to Russia by the Delhi Police's anti-terror unit special cell, and it was believed to have been created with the use of the dark web, an encrypted online content source that enables people to conceal their location and identity from others.
"sawariim@mail.ru" is the email address from which the threat was made, a police officer claims. The Islamic State (IS) has been using the Arabic word "sawarim" in its propaganda movies for the past few years, according to the official.
