As the seasons change and we slowly approach summer, here are some easy things you can do to stay safe and healthy during the transition.

These are just some general tips. It's always best to consult your doctor for customised advice based on your health and specific needs. Have a safe and enjoyable transition to summer.

Drink plenty of water

This is crucial as temperatures rise and sweating increases. Try to drink 8-10 glasses per day, even if you do not feel thirsty. Add refreshing beverages like lemonade, smoothies and juices to your diet.

Eat seasonally

Eat fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season, as they tend to be packed with essential vitamins and minerals. Enjoy the season's best and enjoy the taste of sunshine!

Boost your immune system

Consume foods rich in antioxidants, such as berries, citrus fruits, and leafy greens. It’s also a good idea to take a vitamin D supplement as well, especially if you live in an area with less sunlight during winter.

Protect your skin

Do not forget to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher at least 15 minutes before going outside, and reapply every two hours, or more often if you're sweating or swimming. Furthermore, always wear a hat and sunglasses to provide additional protection.

Stay cool

When it is too hot, spend time in air-conditioned spaces if possible, take cool showers, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.

Be mindful of allergies

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, it is advisable to consult your doctor about managing your symptoms.
