Delhi Election Results 2024 Highlights: BJP secures South Delhi, Chandni Chowk and New Delhi seats

According to Election Commission figures released on Tuesday, BJP's Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has won the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 124,333 votes.

BJP candidate Praveen Khandelwal has secured victory in the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency. This win underscores Khandelwal's successful campaign efforts and resonates with the preferences of the constituents in the region.

BJP's Manoj Tiwari is leading by over 1 lakh votes in the North East Delhi constituency. According to Election Commission data, Tiwari has garnered 657,142 votes, while Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar has received 531,764 votes. Tiwari, who previously won the seat in the 2014 and 2019 national polls, appears to be on track for another significant victory.

BJP candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha seat, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, spoke on BJP's lead on all seven seats in the national capital. He said the people of Delhi were frustrated with the government of Arvind Kejriwal and pointed that the latter has looted Delhi.

The people of Delhi have shown that Kejriwal's place is in Tihar Jail and not in CM House, Bidhuri stated.

The public of the country has totally ignored BJP’s ‘abki baar 400 paar’ slogan, said Delhi Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai. Last time it was ‘300 paar’ and this time the BJP hasn’t even crossed the majority of votes, said Rai, adding that the public is looking for a change.

BJP MP and party's candidate from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, top leadership of the party and the people of the constituency.

He said the BJP is winning all the seven seats of Delhi and claimed they would be forming the govt in the country as well. "Certainly, it's not something that we have expected but this tally will increase and we will cross 300... NDA is united and will move forward together in the service of the people of the country," he said.

Chandni Chowk constituency, one of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, is witnessing a face off between BJP's Praveen Khandelwal and Congress' Jai Prakash Agarwal. As per the latest data by Election Commission, Khandelwal is currently leading on the seat with a margin of about 29,000 seats against Agarwal.

BJP's Manoj Tiwari is leading from the North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over 1 lakh votes against Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar.

On one of the most important seat in the national capital -- New Delhi, BJP's candidate Bansuri Swaraj is leading by a margin of over 32,000 votes against AAP's Somnath Bharti. A newcomer in politics, Bansuri has led a fiery campaign against AAP.

This time too the tide seems to be in his favour as he is currently leading from the seat against Congress' Kanhaiya Kumar by a margin of over 73,000 votes.

The BJP is now leading on all seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital.

North West Delhi saw a voter turnout of 57.85 percent in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. Numbers are currently in favour of BJP's Yogendra Chandolia who is leading from the seat by a margin of over 76,000 against Congress' Udit Raj.

In Delhi, the BJP is leading on four seats while opposition INDIA bloc is ahead on three seats.

Delhi Congress interim president Devendra Yadav said that the party is hopeful that it will reap the fruits of its hard work. He said party leaders and workers have given their 100 per cent. INDIA alliance will form a strong government, said Yadav.

Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said that he hopes for a positive result from the country. He said that INDIA alliance will win and it will be an end to dictatorship.

As per the initial trends, BJP is currently leading in six of seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi in the postal ballot counting.

The counting of votes in Delhi commenced at 8 am, starting with the counting of postal ballots. After this, EVMs will be opened.

Manoj Tiwari emerged victorious from the North East Delhi seat both in the year 2014 and 2019 and is contesting against Kanhaiya Kumar from Congress. Kumar in 2019 contested from Bihar’s Begusarai but lost to BJP’s Giriraj Singh.

The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory regarding the arrangements made in the national capital on June 4 in view of counting of votes of Lok Sabha polls. The movement of traffic on the road stretch from Gagan Cinema T-Point to Nand Nagri Flyover on Wazirabad road (Mangal Pandey Road) will be restricted from 5 am onwards, the advisory said.

BJP candidate from West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Kamaljeet Sehrawat said that it is a very big day for the whole of Delhi and India. The results of the votes cast by the people will come out today, said Sehrawat. She said she hopes that the people have blessed the party for the work done in the last 10 years.

All eyes will be on Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who entered the electoral fray for the first time from the key New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency replacing Meenakshi Lekhi. She is up against AAP’s Somnath Bharti.

Ahead of the counting for Lok Sabhe election 2024, BJP candidate from Chandni Chowk Praveen Khandelwal expressed confidence on the party's winning prospects on the seat. BJP is also winning all the seven seats of Delhi with majority, he said.

Each polling station has a three layered security with two companies of the paramilitary force at the inner portion and personnel of the Delhi Armed Police (DAP) and local police at its outer layers, a PTI report quoted an officer as saying.

Extensive arrangements have been made by the Delhi Police at each centre to avert any untoward situation during the counting process. Each counting centre will have an average of 1,000 personnel and 200 CCTV cameras installed.

Counting for the Delhi Lok Sabha polls of over 89.21 lakh votes will take place across seven centres, with at least 7,000 personnel to be deployed for the same. Around 21 to 28 rounds of counting will take place to count a total of 89,21,495 votes that were cast by 58.69 per cent electorates, which includes 59.03 per cent men, 58.29 per cent women and 28.01 third gender individuals.

The counting of votes for seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi will begin at 8 am today. All eyes will be on whether the Congress and AAP alliance manage to break the winning streak of BJP, which has been consistent in its performance in the last two general election -- having won all the seven seats.

Exit polls have suggested a clean sweep for BJP once again on all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. The News18 Mega Exit poll has predicted 5-7 seats for the saffron party and 0-2 for Congress. According to the poll, BJP could retain its hold over the national capital, securing a vote share of 56 per cent.
