--Australia's Annabel Sutherland emerged as the most expensive buy in the auction, after she was brought by Delhi Capitals for Rs two crore.

--Fellow Australian Phoebe Litchfield was purchased by Gujarat Giants for Rs one crore.

--Retired South African pacer Shabnim Ismail was brought for a sum of Rs 1.2 crore by reigning champions Mumbai Indians.

--20-year-old right-arm seamer from Punjab Kashvee Gautam also attracted a bidding war and was eventually sold to the Giants for Rs 2 crore.

--Karnataka batter Vrinda Dinesh was bought by the UP Warriorz for a sum of Rs 1.3 crore. The former emerged as the most expensive Indian buy at the auction.

"It was a tough tournament last season for RCB and you'll see from, I guess the overseas has been released that looking at some different options in our bowling attack for this season. So that's been core to our plans, is to have a look at our bowling and how we think we can structure that up with a combination of pace and spin. I've been fortunate to be assistant coach of the Southern Brave the last two seasons, so I've worked with Smriti there and obviously through that and since my appointment we've kept in touch and spent a fair bit of time talking through the type of team that we want to be and how we're going to go about it and the plans for the auction. So she's been integral in the planning for today."

He further said, "There's been some changes in the playing group, but we've still got great faith in the players that we've retained within the list. We're really happy with the squad that we're assembling. So there'll be a style of cricket, a brand of cricket, a bold brand of cricket that we want to play and we'll be focusing in the lead up to the tournament on making sure that every player and every support staff are really clear on how we want to play, that we've trained that hard and that we're ready to bring that to the tournament this season."

Franchises are geared up for the WPL auctions 2024 scheduled for December 9.

The inaugural season had clocked more than 50 minutes of watch-time per user per match on JioCinema, the official streaming partner of the league and this franchises say is attracting more brands for the upcoming edition.

Season one was a lot better than what we had expected, said Jinisha Sharma, Director, Capri Sports that owns UP Warriorz.

Union RailwayMinister, Ashwini Vaishnaw in his public address in Vishakhapatnam, said that the railway budget in Andhra Pradesh will remain high and reflect the commitment of the government. Andhra Pradesh will recieve a funding of Rs 8,406 crores, he said.
