What does Monday, 15th September, 2025, bring? Office meetings? Term exams? Sure. All the best for those. But come cricket, there is plenty of action coming up. There is the sole double header of this tournament lined up, United Arab Emirates taking on Oman, at 12 pm GMT, in Abu Dhabi, while at 2.30 pm GMT, Hong Kong take on Sri Lanka in Dubai. Our buildup will begin much earlier, so do tune in early. But in addition to this, Namibia kickstart their 3-match T20I tour of Zimbabwe too! You can catch all the action by just switching tabs. Do try and have some fun amidst the meetings and the exams. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

That ends another one-sided contest. We have been having quite a few in this Asia Cup, haven't we? India get a good break of 4 days before they play their final league game on Friday, 19th September, 2025, against Oman, in Abu Dhabi. Irrespective of this loss, Pakistan will back themselves to come back stronger in their last league game against the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday, 17th September, 2025, also in Dubai.

The victorious skipper of India, SURYAKUMAR YADAV, smiles when the crowd and Sanjay Manjrekar sing happy birthday for him. Calls this win as a great feeling and a perfect return gift for India. Admits that those things keep brewing in the mind and when you play such big games, you have yourself ready. On his last-ball six, Suryakumar says that he loved to stay not out till the end. On India-Pakistan rivalry, Yadav says that it is just another game for him and his team. Details that they come to the ground, prepare and that is the same for all oppositions. On his bowling attack which featured 4 spinners, SKY says that spinners played a huge role even in the 2025 Champions Trophy. Explains that fast bowlers set the tone but spinners control the match post the Powerplay and he is their fan. Ends on a personal note, saying that it is a perfect occasion to say that the Indian players stand by the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and express their solidarity. Wants to dedicate this win to India's armed forces who showed a lot of bravery and hopes that they continue to inspire the nation.

India's KULDEEP YADAV has been adjudged THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH, his second in succession, for his 3/18 in 4 overs with the ball. 'Still, a lot of room for improvement', says Kuldeep! Honest, aye! Kuldeep says it was not much different and he just focused on the execution. Says you just have to see who the batter is, and react on what his strengths are. Highlights that he had the plans in mind and executed them. Adds the first ball is always a wicket-taking one and stresses that you have to try to bowl your best ball. He says that he doesn't feel on top of the world, but just feels that he has to work harder on his bowling. Ends by saying that sometimes, he tries to bowl too many variations!

... THE PRESENTATION ...

Another key thing was the number of dot balls played by both teams. Pakistan were either all or nothing - meaning, they were just going for big hits but if they did not get those, they were just stuck at the crease. There was barely much effort done in rotating the strike. That's where India tutored them, showing that not every pitch is meant to go bang bang. This actually could have been a better contest had Pakistan managed to touch 150 - which could have come if they had converted 10-15 of their dot balls faced. It is an inexperienced batting lineup for sure, but given that so much T20 cricket is being played these days, nearly every batter is aware of the norms. Additionally, if the strike is rotated, the bowler tends to get frustrated and could give a couple of loose balls. Please stay tuned for the presentation.

Many times, a good start lays down the foundation for a good score, or a good chase. Pakistan were searching for early wickets but India did not allow those to come in easily. As in, they did lose Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma by the 4th over - but by then, had already got one-third of the runs required. The quickfire start from Abhishek Sharma just pushed Pakistan back mentally. After that brisk start, it was not as if India went bang bang. They played normal cricket post the Powerplay and played every ball on merit, giving respect to Pakistan's best bowler of the night - Abrar Ahmed. On the other hand, the others were attacked, and even though Saim Ayub picked up all the wickets to fall, it was not as if he kept the Indians under pressure. The 56-run stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma just killed any kind of momentum that Pakistan were getting post the wicket of Abhishek. A comprehensive win.

The current world champions just strut their stuff. Bat first, bowl first, win toss, lose toss - it just doesn't matter for The Men In Blue. Jasprit Bumrah got down to business pretty early while the spinners just choked the batters later on. It was almost like a net session for the trio of Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, as they were barely tested, except for a bit in the last couple of overs. Just did not give any respite to Pakistan at any stage.

As much as there was a promotion about this marquee clash, it turned out to be anything but that. Pakistan supposedly won a good toss on a slowish deck. But as Ravi Shastri mentioned at the pitch report, to make use of the pitch, you need to have a good total on the board. And Pakistan had far from one. If only 5 batters reach double digits, with 2 of them being numbers 9 and 10, it pretty much tells the story about your batting. Pakistan were completely outclassed against a strong Indian bowling and never got their innings going, with just one partnership crossing 30. Their batting was a suspect in the triseries before this tournament as well, involving UAE and Afghanistan and coach Mike Hesson has a lot of work to do.

Done and dusted. Another sad advert for a big clash. Third successive win for India against Pakistan in T20Is, but across formats, their is their 6th victory on the trot. In fact, post that loss in the 2022 Asia Cup, the Indians have stayed unbeaten over their arch rivals in Men In Green.

15.5SIX! DONE AND DUSTED! The skipper of India, Suryakumar Yadav, finishes the match in style and India defeat Pakistan by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare. Touch full and outside off, Suryakumar Yadav clears his front leg away again and smokes it over the deep mid-wicket fence for a biggie to seal the deal. A thumping win for India.

15.4Full and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav clears out his front leg and looks to slog it across but gets an inside edge that rolls away to short fine leg.

15.3A pleading appeal for LBW, but only Mohammad Haris seems to be interested. Salman Agha, after chatting briefly with his keeper, sends it upstairs. Pitching outside leg? It is a full ball from Muqeem, on a lower trajectory. Suryakumar Yadav tries to sweep that away and finish things off, but misses to connect as the ball spins into him, and he is rapped on the front pad. The technology comes up and the UltraEdge shows no bat involved. Ball Tracking comes up and shows the ball to be pitching inside the line of the stumps, but it is projected to clip the leg stump on the umpire's call. Hence the on-field decision stays. NOT OUT!

15.2A yard behind fuller length, outside off. Shivam Dube rocks back and cuts it to deep point for another solo. Just 3 needed for India now.

15.1Pitched outside leg, spinning down leg, on a length. Suryakumar Yadav hangs deep, and whips it across to deep square leg for a single.

Final over of the match? India are just a hit away. Sufiyan Muqeem to bowl. 2-0-21-0 so far.

14.6SIX! BLUDGEONED! Full and around middle, Shivam Dube uses his feet, gets to the pitch of the ball and smokes it well over the wide long on fence for a biggie. That has travelled way back in the stands, and it was a massive six. 13 runs off the over, and India need just 5 runs more.

14.5Touch short and around off, Yadav punches it through covers for a single.

14.4Tossed it up and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav plays it off the back foot and pushes it to the right of the bowler.

14.3Spins away, on a length, outside off, Suryakumar reaches for it on the back foot, and cuts it between cover-point and backward point for a couple of runs.

14.2Fuller in length, outside off, driven by SKY to the cover region.

14.1FOUR! In a hurry now! Serves it full in length, does Saim, on middle and leg. Suryakumar Yadav takes a giant stride forward and sits down for the sweep shot. Uses his wrists to execute that shot, over the vacant backward square leg region. Shaheen Afridi from deep fine leg runs across to his left, and even dives full stretch, but the ball races away to the fence.

13.6Nagging length and outside off, Shivam Dube tries to cut it but gets an inside edge that goes through between his legs and zips past the leg stump to short fine leg. Dube looks for a single but is sent back by his skipper. 10 runs off the over and India need just 18 now.

13.5Slower and fuller, around middle, Yadan flicks it to the right of long on for a single.

13.4FOUR! CRUNCHED! A bit short and outside off, Suryakumar Yadav goes back, uses the depth of the crease and cuts it to the right of backward point for a cracking boundary. No chance for the deep point fielder to cut it off.

13.3Nice and full, around off, gently pushed to short cover.

13.2FOUR! Almost carried, and SKY gets a boundary! Floated fuller and around the off stump, with a sharp turn away from the batter. Suryakumar Yadav slices it off the outside half of the bat. The ball goes a bit uppishly and dips in front of the substitute fielder, Hasan Ali, stationed at backward point. He tries to catch, diving to his left, but the ball evades him and races to the fence behind.

13.1Slides across the batter, from around the stumps, on a length. Dube rocks back and punches it along the ground for a single at long off.

India need 28 from 42 balls. Pakistan managed 62 in their last 42.

12.6100 is up for India. Short and around off, Shivam Dube presses back and punches it down to long on for a single. 3 runs off the over and a wicket.

12.5A low full toss, around middle, Suryakumar Yadav plants his front leg forward and across before knocking it down to long on for a single.

12.4Slower and fuller, around off, Shivam Dube tucks it towards square leg for a single.

12.3Dragged length, around off, Shivam rocks back and chop-cuts it to the point region.

Shivam Dube walks in next, at number 5, replacing Tilak Varma.

12.2OUT! OUTFOXED! Third wicket falls for India and all have been snagged by Saim Ayub. He dishes out a length ball, from around the wickets, and gets it to turn away from the batter. Tilak Varma rocks back to punch it across but that excessive spin does him in. Beats the bat and completely makes the mess of the stumps behind. Tilak Varma is shell-shocked and departs for a run-a-ball 31. India are 97/3, needing another 31 runs off 46 deliveries.

12.1Tossed up, full and drifting in on middle, clipped by Tilak to mid-wicket.

After 12 overs, India are 97/2. At the same stage, Pakistan were 62/4. The only wicket-taker in this run chase, Saim Ayub is back on. 2-0-19-2 so far.

11.6Huge shout for LBW! Turned down! Pakistan have taken the review. Very full, around off, Suryakumar Yadav got down to sweep but missed and was hit on the pads. The bowler and keeper appealed but the umpire shook his head. To the naked eye, this seems to be missing off stump. Yes, Ball Tracking confirms. In fact, the impact itself seemed to be outside off but it is returned as umpire's call. Review lost.

11.5Full and on the pads, Varma flicks it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

11.4DROPPED! Oh dear, just the day Pakistan have had. Fractionally short, around middle, Tilak Varma looks to punch it down the ground, but the ball sticks on the surface a touch. As a result, the shot is played early while the ball arrives late. Gets spooned off the inner half of the bat, back to the bowler. It is a pretty simple return catch but Nawaz spills it.

11.3Floated up, full and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav backs away and goes inside out. Chips it over cover and gets a single before the long off fielder cuts it off to his left.

11.2Short and around middle, Varma presses back and punches it to long on for a single more.

11.1Short and well outside off, Suryakumar Yadav throws his hands at it and cuts it hard towards backward point where Fakhar Zaman makes a fumble as the ball came a bit quicker than he would have expected it to be. It rolls away behind him and they take a single.

End of a very good spell from Abrar Ahmed. The only bowler, barring Abhishek Sharma, to have not conceded a boundary in this match. But Pakistan would have wanted wickets from him. India have smartly played him out. Giving respect where it is due. Mohammad Nawaz returns. 1-0-13-0 so far.

10.6Much shorter and around off, Suryakumar Yadav looks to flick it off the back foot but gets a leading edge that lobs up straight back to the left of the bowler. But luckily for Suryakumar Yadav, the ball travels over the bowler and they cross.

10.5Nagging length and around middle, Yadav backs away a bit and cuts it but straight to short third.

10.4Floated up, around middle, Suryakumar Yadav gets across on one knee and sweeps it towards deep backward square leg. Calls for two instantly and Shaheen Afridi runs across to his left from deep fine leg and puts in a full-length dive to cut it off. Two runs taken. The 50-run partnership is up between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma.

10.3Slower and a bit shorter, on leg, Varma crouches and swipes it across to deep square leg for one.

10.2Tossed it up and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav gets across on one knee and sweeps it to deep backward square leg for a single.

10.1Full and around middle, Suryakumar Yadav presses back and pushes it down back to the bowler.

DRINKS BREAK. Another no contest brewing between these arch rivals. If Pakistan lacked confidence with the bat, their bowling just doesn't have the answers to India's batting masterclass. They have slowed down the Indians a touch after the Powerplay, but in the context of the chase, it does not mean much, especially with wickets not coming. Normally, in Dubai, Shaheen Afridi finds prodigious swing with the new ball (remember that 2021 World Cup clash against India? Rohit and Rahul - bang bang) but he has not found much swing at all here. Add to it, the spinners are not at all able to keep any sort of a hold on the batters and if the boundaries are not coming, the score is still ticking over. Figure this - after 10 overs, Pakistan had faced 37 dot balls. So far, India have faced only 23. Small things, but make a big difference.

9.6Tossed it up and around middle, Tilak Varma goes back and tucks it to backward square leg. Another big over for India as 14 came off it.

9.5Very full and outside off, Yadav gets down on one knee and fetches it with a sweep to the right of long on for a single.

9.4Short and wide outside off, Suryakumar Yadav punches it off the back foot towards sweeper cover. Saim Ayub runs across to his right from deep point and puts in a dive to cut it off. Saves two runs for his side and a good effort in the field.

9.3FOUR! Cleverly played! This is sheer class. A quick googly, outside off, short in length, but Suryakumar Yadav brings his wrists into play. If the ball is quick, his reaction is even quicker, scything the cut to the right of short third, for a boundary!

9.2Short and around middle, knocked down to long on for a single off the back foot by TV.

9.1SIX! BOSH! This is the difference between Indian batting and Pakistan's batting. Show intent, attack, but attack with some purpose. Not just blindly. Tilak Varma watched out an entire over of Sufiyan Muqeem, just to judge how he is bowling. And in his next over, he has gone bang. Flighted, outside off, Tilak Varma got down on knee and slog swept it over mid-wicket for half a dozen!

India need 54 runs in 66 balls. Pakistan managed 80 in their last 66.

8.6A bit fuller and outside off, Yadav goes back and cuts it but finds the backward point fielder.

8.5Slower and fuller, around middle, Tilak backs away a touch and taps it in front of backward point. Sneaks a quick single.

8.4Short and around middle, Tilak clips it to mid-wicket off the back foot.

8.3Short and down leg, Tilak Varma presses back, crouches and looks to pull it but misses. The ball hits his front pad on the knee roll and lobs up towards short third. Abrar Ahmed shouts for the catch but it was off the pads. Oh, hang on, the replays have shown that there was an inside edge. The fielder should have been more alert there and should have gone for the catch as he seemed a bit casual.

8.2Much fuller and around middle, Yadav plays it off the back foot and uses his wrists to tuck it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

8.1Short and around leg, Varma presses back and nudges it to the right of short fine leg for a single.

After 8 overs, India are 71/2. At the same stage, Pakistan were 45/3.

7.6Touch short and wide outside off, Yadav waits, extends his arms and cuts it down to short third. 7 off the over.

7.5Floated up, full and around middle, TV nudges it through mid-wicket for a single off the back foot.

7.4A bit full and outside off, Suryakumar Yadav comes forward and cracks his drive through covers for one.

7.3FOUR! Finally gets his favourite shot away. He tried a similar one early on in his innings but has connected with one now. Full, on middle, Suryakumar Yadav gets down on a knee and laps it over short fine leg for a boundary. 59 more needed from 75 balls.

7.2A bit short and around off, Varma goes back and uses his wrists to flick it to deep mid-wicket for a single.

7.1Tossed it up, around off, Tilak Varma lunges and drives it to cover.

India need 64 from 78 balls. Pakistan managed 83 in their last 78. Time for bowler number 5 and spinner number 4 - Sufiyan Muqeem.

6.6Nagging length and around middle, Tilak hangs back and eases it down to long off for one. Just 3 off the over.

6.5Full but down the leg side, Suryakumar Yadav gets down on one knee and sweeps it. His bottom hand comes off the handle of the bat but still, he completes his bat swing. The ball rolls down to deep fine leg. A single taken.

6.4Full and around middle, Varma knocks it down to beat the diving bowler to his left for a single.

6.3A bit shorter and around middle, TV punches it towards mid on, where the mid-wicket fielder gets across to his right and makes a good stop to deny the single.

6.2Flighted, full and on leg, Tilak taps it to mid-wicket off the front foot.

6.1Slower and shorter, around middle, Varma presses back and clips it to short fine.

What a contrast. Pakistan got just one double-digit over with the bat in their Powerplay. With the ball, they have managed just 2 non double-digit overs so far. 42/2 meets 61/2 and India are way ahead in this chase.

5.6Tossed it up and around off, Tilak Varma plays it off the back foot and flicks it to deep square leg for a single. India end their Powerplay with a score of 61/2, needing another 67 runs in the last fourteen overs.

5.5Short and on the pads, tucked away towards backward square leg.

5.4Dragged back length and outside off, Tilak Varma gets across on his back foot and uses his wrists to turn it in the gap towards deep mid-wicket. Calls for two and completes it before the wide long on fielder gets across to his left and collects the ball.

5.3FOUR! This time, Tilak finds the boundary. Tossed up, outside off, Tilak jumps down the track, gets to the pitch of the ball and chips it beautifully over cover. One bounce and into the fence.

5.2Touch short and outside off, Tilak Varma backs away and punches it through the gap between mid off and extra cover. Picks up two runs, and Faheem Ashraf gives it a chase from mid off and even puts in a dive to cut it off to save two runs for his side. Good effort.

5.1FOUR! Welcome into the attack! Full, on middle and leg, Tilak Varma gets down and plays the reverse sweep. Gets it in the gap between cover and point and finds the boundary! 50 UP FOR INDIA AS WELL. 76 more needed from 89 balls.

India need 80 runs from 90 balls. Pakistan managed 93 in their last 90. Mohammad Nawaz will bowl the final over of the Powerplay.

4.6On middle and leg, flicked towards short mid-wicket. First boundaryless over of the innings!

4.5Shortish, outside off, Yadav punches it towards cover.

4.4One more googly, fired in on middle, Suryakumar gets down to sweep and just about gets some glove on it. Had he missed, he was gone LBW. Instead, he earns a couple of runs through fine leg.

4.3Pitched outside leg, Tilak gets down and across to play the paddle but misses. The ball hits something and lobs over the keeper. Both, bowler and keeper appeal for LBW, but don't get it. Meanwhile, the batters pinch a leg bye.

4.2Another wrong 'un, fuller on middle, Tilak Varma lunges and works this with soft hands through mid-wicket. That is a bigger area on that side and the fielder is pretty deep at mid-wicket. Easy couple taken.

4.1A googly to start, short in length, around off, Suryakumar Yadav punches it down to long off for a single.

After 4 overs. India are 42/2. At the same stage, Pakistan were 26/2! In fact, India's current score is what Pakistan managed in the whole of their Powerplay. A look at proper spin now. Here's Abrar Ahmed.

3.6Fractionally short, outside off, Varma goes back and punches it towards cover. 9 runs but a wicket as well from the over, Saim Ayub's bowling figures read 2-0-19-2.

3.6WIDE. Down the leg side, Tilak gets across to flick but misses. The keeper, Mohammad Haris, fumbles as the ball deflects off his glove to his right, but no run taken.

3.5Full and straight, Tilak Varma offers a good frontfoot defense.

Tilak Varma walks in next, at number 4, replacing Abhishek Sharma.

3.4OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! CAUGHT! An absolutely needless shot from Abhishek and Ayub has his second. Spots Sharma dancing down the track, and Saim smartly drags the length back, and flattens the trajectory, giving very little space for the southpaw to work with. Abhishek Sharma dances down and mistimes it in the air, towards long off. Faheem Ashraf swallows a simple catch in the deep. Abhishek Sharma departs for a quickfire 31 off just 13 balls, and India are 41/2, needing another 87 runs.

3.3Outside off, Abhishek Sharma opens the face of his bat nicely and punches this towards cover.

3.2FOUR! Finds the gap to perfection! Runs are leaking at an alarming rate for Pakistan here! Touch full and outside off, Abhishek Sharma pounces on the width offered and smashes it through the cover and point gap for a boundary.

3.1FOUR! Into the overdrive mode, is Abhishek! Ayub dishes out a length ball, sliding into the batter. Abhishek Sharma backs away, creates room and lofts it over the cover fielder for a boundary, beating long off to his right.

Since 2024, Pakistan's bowlers have taken the most wickets in T20Is among Test-playing nations - 308 at an average of 21.82, and an economy of 8.12. The stat was before this match.

2.6Good stop by the bowler. Full and straight, around off, Suryakumar drives this straight back, but Shaheen Afridi sticks out his left hand and makes a half stop. The ball deflects behind, past the stumps and Surya looks for the single but mid on comes in quickly to stop the ball and the Indian skipper changes his mind. 11 from the over, Shaheen Afridi's bowling figures read 2-0-23-0!

2.5Nearly a Supla shot. On a length, outside off, angling away, Suryakumar Yadav looks to whip it over fine leg with his feet rising on their toes, but misses it completely.

2.4Full and arrow straight, Sharma pushes it down the ground for a single.

2.3SIX! KABOOM! Shaheen serves it into the slot, on middle. Abhishek Sharma finds the middle of the blade, and tonks it comfortably over long on for a huge six. Holds his pose after executing the shot. Moves into his 20s, does Abhishek Sharma! The target for India shrinks under triple digits as they need 96 runs to win in 105 balls.

2.2On a length, around off, coming in, Abhishek defends it towards cover.

2.1FOUR! Intent! Full and pace on, outside off. Abhishek Sharma throws his bat at it, and lofts it over the backward point region for a boundary.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav walks in next, at number 3, replacing Shubman Gill.

1.6OUT! STUMPED! Brilliant execution by Ayub and Pakistan have their first! Carrom ball from Ayub, on a length, just around off and spinning away off the deck. Shubman Gill yet again takes a big stride down the track and tries to push it away, but does not account for the ball turning away from him. Hence, he is beaten all ends up on the outside edge, and the ball is collected by Mohammad Haris behind the stumps before he whips the bails off in a flash. Now, into the forensics. The third umpire is summoned for the stumping check. Side-on replay shows that Gill's back leg is outside the popping crease as Haris dislodges the bails off. Shubman Gill departs early on 10 (7) and India are 22/1.

Gone? Pakistan are celebrating. They believe that Shubman Gill has been stumped here. Oh yes. Gone by a long way!

1.5FOUR! Sublime touch! Darted full and outside off. Shubman Gill again dances down the track and lofts it effortlessly over cover for a boundary.

1.4FOUR! Smashed! Pushed through on a fuller length, on a lower trajectory, around off. Shubman Gill shimmies down the track and smashes it down the ground, to the right of the bowler for a boundary.

1.3Very full, around off, pushed back to the bowler.

1.2Short again, outside off, Abhishek Sharma gives himself room to the leg side and slaps it through the covers for a run.

1.1Fractionally short to start, around off, punched down to mid on for a quick single.

119. This was the target defended by the team batting first, the last time these two teams met in a T20I. It was in New York, in the 2024 World Cup, where the Indians displayed their bowling prowess. This pitch is nowhere as sluggish to that one and if any, seems to be playing better under lights. Pakistan need to bring their whole prowess together to make a match of this. It will be Saim Ayub to share the new ball.

0.6Around middle and off, punched down to mid on for a single, to end a 12-run opening over!

0.5Ooohhh... a touch loose from Gill. Full, outside off, angling across, Shubman Gill looked to hit it up and over the bowler but did not move his feet. Got beaten on the outside edge. The bowler started to celebrate, thinking he heard a noise but got no response from his keeper.

0.4Full, tailing down the leg side, Abhishek whips it to the left of deep backward square leg for a single.

0.3Keeps going full, does Afridi. This is on target though, nearly a yorker, on middle, Abhishek Sharma digs it out watchfully towards short mid-wicket.

0.2SIX! Clean as a whistle! An attempted yorker, just tailing back in a touch, on a fuller length. Abhishek Sharma hits it through the line, picks it up cleanly and parks it behind long off for a six. India need 118 runs to win off an equal number of deliveries.

0.1FOUR! How about that for a start? Shaheen Afridi hurls a low full toss, on middle. Abhishek Sharma shimmies down the track and smashes it gun-barrel straight down the ground for a cracking boundary. Abhishek Sharma and India are off the mark in the chase!
