That’s a wrap from this game, where Australia Women have asserted their dominance once more, completing a clean sweep in the ODI phase of the Women’s Ashes to secure a commanding 6-0 points lead. With everything stacked against England Women, they face an uphill task of winning all the remaining games to reclaim the Ashes. However, taking it one game at a time and believing in themselves will be key. The spotlight now shifts to the T20Is, with the first match scheduled for January 20, 2025, at 8.15 am GMT at the SCG. Plenty of thrills are in store, so be sure to join us early for all the pre-match buildup. Until then, goodbye and take care!

Alyssa Healy, the captain of Australia Women starts off by commenting on the fact that it was her 100th stumping in international cricket and reckons that she's always startled when she comes across these facts. She says that all-round they were pretty good and didn't start well but that's where their depth comes into play. Healy then goes on to give a shoutout to Ash Gardner and dubs her as the best cricketer.

Heather Knight, the skipper of England Women says they bowled brilliantly upfront but the way Ash and Mooney batted was a great inning. Adds that in the chase, they were above the required rate for the most part but lost wickets which cost them the game. Mentions that they will now look to start a fresh in Sydney with the change of formats.

Ash Gardner is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her maiden ODI ton. She starts by saying that she's been searching for that elusive ton for a long time and being able to sit back and appreciate what she did today was very nice and a pleasing performance from the whole team. Adds that she hasn't scored too many centuries in her life and to do it for the country is a big deal and the way she was supported from the other end was brilliant as well. On her spectacular catch, she says that she misjudged it a bit but knew that the rope was just behind her and let her instincts take over.

It's time for the Presentation Ceremony...

Earlier in the game, England Women rattled Australia early, reducing them to 59/4 in 15 overs, but Ash Gardner turned the tide with her maiden ODI century. She built vital partnerships with Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath, setting the stage for a big finish. Georgia Wareham’s explosive cameo pushed Australia past 300. For England, Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Charlie Dean impressed with two wickets each.

But a stunning catch by Phoebe Litchfield to dismiss Danni Wyatt-Hodge triggered a collapse. Megan Schutt quickly removed Alice Capsey, and Alana King spun her magic to dismantle the lower middle order, notching up a five-fer. Wickets tumbled in clusters as England Women succumbed to yet another defeat.

However, the introduction of Georgia Wareham turned the game on its head. She broke the stand by dismissing Tammy Beaumont, then scalped Natalie Sciver-Brunt soon after, swinging the momentum back in Australia’s favour. Danni Wyatt-Hodge, confident from the start, counterattacked alongside Amy Jones, bringing boundaries back into play and making the chase look manageable again.

Chasing a daunting target of 309, England Women needed a strong start but faltered early as Megan Schutt struck twice, reducing them to 29/2. While the pacers dominated, Tammy Beaumont used her feet to disrupt their rhythm but looked tentative, while Natalie Sciver-Brunt appeared composed, steadily ticking along. The duo gradually rebuilt the innings, weathering some half-chances and fielding lapses to form a resilient 89-run partnership, with both reaching well-earned half-centuries.

A commanding 86-run victory sees the Australia Women take a dominant 6-0 lead on points at the conclusion of the ODIs. They now need just one win from the upcoming three T20Is or the one-off Test to retain the Women’s Ashes. What a remarkable effort and statement of dominance this has been!

42.2OUT! STUMPED! That's it, a five-star showing from Alana King and Australia Women and they have routed the ODI leg of this Women's Ashes 3-0. Lovely bit of drift from King, bowled into the pads, this one dips and turns away. Charlie Dean is drawn forward and looks to heave across the line but is beaten by the turn and bounce. Alyssa Healy with a good take behind the stumps and the bails are whipped off in a flash. The replays confirm the same and England Women are bundled out for 222 as King picks up a five-wicket haul. Australia Women win by 86 runs and take a 6-0 lead in the points tally with 10 more points to play for.

42.1On the shorter side, turning away from middle, Bell guides it off the face of the blade and past short third for a single.

41.6The leg cutter now, bowled short and outside off, Dean backs away and slaps it down straight to the fielder at mid off.

41.5Good length again over off, Charlie Dean backs away to pull but mistimes it back towards the bowler.

41.4Another wide full toss from Megan Schutt and this is slashed away wide of point for a single by Bell.

41.3Good length attacking the stumps, Lauren Bell does well to keep it out on the off side.

Lauren Bell is the last batter in for England Women.

40.6OUT! CAUGHT! Alana King is spinning her web and now has 4 wickets to her name! Flights it up, on off and tempts the batter in flight. Australia Women need just one more wicket to win.

40.5Quick, full and outside off, left alone by Filer.

40.4No run. Darted in full, outside off, Lauren Filer has a feel for it and misses.

Lauren Filer is the new batter in.

40.3OUT! CAUGHT! Ash Gardner has pulled off an absolute stunner at the ropes, adding yet another highlight to an already dominant Australian performance in the field. One sensational grab after another! Absolutely ridiculous stuff from Ash Gardner! King loops it full, on middle and off, Sophie Ecclestone slogs it well and hits it to deep mid-wicket. Ash Gardner stays very close to the rope, sticks her right hand out and grabs it. Just as she starts to lose her balance behind, she pops the ball back in play, gets out and dives back in to take it brilliantly.

Has Ash Gardner pulled off an impossible catch? We have already seen one spectacular catch but this might be one of the greatest ever. The third umpire is called in and the replays show that Gardner took it just inside the ropes, then managed to release it before touching the ropes and charged back in to pouch it safely. OUT!

40.2Looped full, on off and turning away, Sophie Ecclestone has a poke at it but gets beaten.

Charlie Dean walks in next for England Women.

37.2OUT! LBW! More than half an appeal for LBW and the finger is raised. Alice Capsey has reviewed it quite quickly though. Megan Schutt goes a bit wider on the crease and uses that angle to slant the ball back in a long way. It is just a touch full around off and angles in towards the leg pole. Capsey rocks back to pull but it isn't short enough and she misses, getting hit on the pads. The replays roll in and there's no bat involved but Ball Tracking does show three reds and Capsey walks back for a duck. Australia Women back on top of proceedings now.

37.1Fractionally short and at the stumps, Amy Jones rocks back and pulls it down to long on for a single.

36.6On a good length and outside off, patted away down to covers by Capsey.

Alice Capsey walks in to bat at number 7 for England Women.

36.5OUT! CAUGHT! That is a spectacular catch from Phoebe Litchfield and Australia Women get another timely wicket. Tossed up, on a length and outside off, Danni Wyatt-Hodge looks to loft it over covers with the spin but the ball isn't full enough. The ball takes the higher part of the bat and goes over covers but Litchfield  takes a few steps back over her head and then puts in a full-body dive to stretch both hands and takes it brilliantly. That definitely seemed out of reach all the way but she's pulled it off. Danni Wyatt-Hodge departs for 35(32) and England Women are 200 for 5 now.

36.4Flighted ball, full and drifted into the pads, Amy Jones plays it with a straight bat and eases it down to long on for a single.

36.1Short ball, drifted into leg, Wyatt-Hodge goes deep in her crease and pulls it aerially down to deep square leg for a single.

35.6Fuller one, sliding it into the pads, flicked away firmly towards deep square leg for one. 7 off that over without a fuss and we have a real game on our hands it seems.

35.5Back of a length and over middle, Jones makes room and swats it away down to wide long on for just a single though.

35.4Hard length over off and middle, Amy Jones shuffles across and laps it over the keeper's head for a couple of runs down to fine leg.

35.2Short ball, banged in over middle and leg, Jones rocks back and pulls it uppishly and in between long on and deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs.

35.1A certain boundary stopped there by Alana King. Fractionally short but well wide, Wyatt-Hodge goes after it and cuts it in front of point but King dives and gets a good hand on it. Just a single then.

33.4Through the gap but Phoebe Litchfield gives a good chase and saves two runs for her side. A tad short and angled across off, Wyatt-Hodge backs away and taps it through the gap at covers for a brace.

33.3Short of a length, bowled from around the stumps and at the pads, Amy Jones stands tall and pushes it down in front of mid-wicket for a single.

33.2Short again, turning into the pads, Wyatt-Hodge rocks back and pulls it away to deep square leg for a run.

33.1Slow and short around off, Wyatt-Hodge backs away to cut but hits it straight to the fielder at cover-point.

Drinks! Georgia Wareham has swung the momentum back in Australia’s favour with two crucial wickets, dismissing both set batters. Australia Women now firmly hold the upper hand and will look to capitalize by maintaining the pressure. If they can keep restricting scoring opportunities, the wickets are likely to keep tumbling, putting them closer to sealing the game. England Women are desperate to rebuild and stitch together another crucial partnership. Danni Wyatt-Hodge has looked assured at the crease, and it’s clear that this partnership will be pivotal for England’s chances.
