February 10, 2012 / 20:32 IST

Amritsar, Feb 10 (PTI) Tractor major Sonalika Group today claimed it has become one of the largest farm machinery distributors in Nepal, offering life-time free service to its customers. With a strong network of more than 10 dealers plus 30 sales and services extension points, Sonaila tractors has become one of the leading brands in Nepal, said Rajiv Wahi, President–IB for Sonalika International in a release. Stating that Sonalika was the only company offering life-time free service facility to its customers in Nepal, he said more than 6,500 customers could be found cultivating, ploughing, harrowing and threshing by using Sonalika’s tractors. Since it is difficult to transport the tractors to the fields of the farmers in Nepal because of tough terrain, Indian Tractor manufacturing company said it supplies tractors at doorsteps of farmers by first disassembling them and then transport on either mules or flew by helicopters. Nepal is a landlocked nation with difficult mountainous terrain. "We strongly believe that farm mechanization holds the key to greater food security and long-term employment generation in Nepal," he said.
