Nifty 5900 Put adds 27.71 lakh shares in Open Interest

Total Stock Futures add 5.28 crore shares in open interest (OI) on Wednesday. Total Futures' open interest went up by Rs 4141 crore while total Options OI was up by Rs 4494 crore.

Nifty Open Interest PCR was up at 1.47 versus 1.30. Nifty Futures added 17 lakh shares in OI and ended at 26.6 points premium versus 18 points.

FIIs have net sold Rs 1056 crore in Stock Futures, which OI was up by 32002 contracts.

Nifty 5900 Put added 27.71 lakh shares in Open Interest and Nifty 5800 Put added 18.03 lakh shares in Open Interest. However, Nifty 6100 Call added 7.84 lakh shares in Open Interest.

Infosys saw delivery based buying & future buildup ahead of results. The stock gained 2% on Wednesday; its OI was up by 13% and delivery volume increased at 7.3 lakh shares versus 5.5 lakh.

Infosys 3200 Put added 2.4 lakh shares in OI while 3300 Call added 1.44 lakh shares in OI and 3400 Call added 1.26 lakh shares in OI.

Long buildup & cash buying were seen in Jaiprakash Asssociates. The stock surged 7%; its OI was up by 16% or 55 lakh shares. Delivery volume increased at 53 lakh shares (24%) as against 23 lakh (31%).

DCB shot up 16%; its OI was up by 23% or 16 lakh shares. Delivery volume jumped at 29 lakh shares versus 4.4 lakh. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala bought 12 lakh shares of company on Wednesday.

Long buildup & cash buying were seen in Bharti Airtel, ITC and L&T. Bharti rose 3%; its OI was up by 11% and delivery volume increased at 59 lakh (75%) shares versus 24 lakh (65%).

ITC rallied 3%; its OI was up by 14% and delivery volume jumped at 69.5 lakh shares (67%) versus 51 lakh (62%). L&T gained 3.7%; its OI was up by 17% and delivery volume went up at 11.8 lakh shares versus 5.34 lakh.
