Mangal Keshav has come out with its report on chilli, jeera, pepper, cardamom, soya bean, Guar, mustard seed and Mentha oil


Arrivals of chilli crop declined below 60,000 bags across major trading centers while spot rates too were down pressured by dull demand and steady supply at spot mandis. Spot rates traded in the range of Rs 83-Rs 85 per kg.


Inflow of jeera declined to about 3,500 bags while trades declined below 1,500 bags at local auctions held at Unjha market. Spot rates were down by another Rs 500 per quintal, in the absence of export demand & low demand, despite prices close to 1-year lows.


Spot rates of pepper garbled increased to Rs 337 per kg and that of un-garbled was up at Rs 322 per kg. Arrivals were unchanged at 20 tons & trades were up at 30 tons at Kochi market, as per IPSTA. Turmeric arrivals declined to about 500-700 bags at Nizamabad, but increased to more than 12,500 bags at mandis of Erode, as per local traders. Spot rates were offered around Rs 49-Rs 53 per kg across, based on crop quality across major trading centers.


Average price of small cardamom declined to Rs 526.9 per kg, while the maximum price offered was up at Rs 737.5 per kg. Total inflow of small cardamom crop increased to 80.7 tons from which about 76.8 tons were sold at auction held at Nedumkandam.


Arrivals of soya bean crop stood around 9.5- 10lakh bags across major trading centers, with major of about 5.5-5.7lakh bags reported at MP market and ~2-2.3lakh bags each across mandis of Maharashtra & Rajasthan.


Spot rates offered by planters stood were up at Rs 21.8-Rs 22 per kg, while rates offered by farmers at mandis of Indore stood around Rs 21.5 per kg, as per local traders.


Guar complex fell sharply again to lower circuit, declining by 8% in 2-days session and pressured by increase in inflow of fresh crop in the market. Guar seed crop arrivals declined to 13,926 quintals, while the average of the closing spot rates was down at Rs 4,245.4 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan.


Inflow of mustard seed crop declined to 7,845 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were up at Rs 2,695.6 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan. Total arrivals of Mustard seed crop stood around 0.7lakh bags while the spot rates were up at Rs 30.7-Rs 31.2 per kg across major trading centers, as per market reports.


Mentha oil futures closed in negative, pressures by profit-booking/ increased selling at higher levels. Spot rates declined below Rs 1,500 per kg, with arrivals of about 180-200 oil drums.
