Restaurant-tech platform Petpooja raises Rs 137 crore from Dharana Capital, Urban Company founders

The fresh capital will be utilised to enhance Petpooja’s product portfolio, accelerate AI-driven automation, and bolster customer support.

Petpooja, a cloud-based SaaS platform for restaurants, has raised Rs 137 crore (around 15.4 million) through a mix of primary and secondary capital during a funding round led by Dharana Capital, the company said in a statement on September 30.

The funding round also saw participation from Ashish Gupta, co-founder of Helion Ventures, along with the founders of Urban Company - Abhiraj Singh Bhal, Varun Khaitan, Raghav Chandra - and Mukund Kulashekaran, the Chief Business Officer at Urban Company.

Dharana Capital is an India-focused growth-stage technology and consumer investment firm backed by top US university endowments and other non-profit institutions. The fund's current investments include Urban Company, Zopper, Lentra, NoBroker, Itilite, and Vayudh.

“Our partnership with Dharana marks an exciting new chapter for us. This round will help us accelerate product innovation and continue building solutions that help restaurants simplify their operations,” said Parthiv Patel, Co-Founder and CEO of Petpooja.

The startup addresses the challenges of outdated technology with user-friendly, cost-effective solutions that drive growth and improve customer experiences. Petpooja employs over 1,600 people and has added allied products like payroll and invoice automation for customers.
