The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted two out of five data centre plots in Sector 28 of the Delhi suburb, a move that will fetch the authority Rs 59.17 crore revenue.
According to the authority, an investment of Rs 1,757.45 crore is proposed on these two data centre plots that will generate an estimated 775 jobs.
YEIDA launched the scheme for the sale of five data centre plots in Sector 28, along the Yamuna Expressway linking Noida and Agra, on September 27, 2023. The scheme closed on October 26. Under the scheme, three plots of 20,000 square metres, and one plot each of 40,000 sq m and 1,25,660 sq m were offered.
The authority noted that only three applications were received against as many plots measuring 20,000 sq m.
The plots were allotted based on interviews and evaluations of the companies’ profiles. A meeting of the allotment committee was convened on November 7 where the interviews were conducted and profiles checked to shortlist applicants.

“Two companies belonging to the data centre sector including Sify Infinite Spaces Limited and Jackson Limited were found eligible and hence allotted the data centre plots D10 and D9 respectively for development,” the authority said.
The data centre plot D10 was allotted at a reserve price of Rs 15, 497 per sq m while D9 was allotted at the rate of Rs 14,088 per sq m.
