Christmas season is here and for those who are looking to make the perfect Christmas tree decorations, here are a few tips:
Choose the color:
Christmas trees come in a combination of colors and you should choose the color which you prefer. The combinations can be all green, red and silver, red and gold, pink and white, or any other combination you prefer. The tree will look elegant if you choose a color which will complement the color of the room where the tree is going to be placed. You can even try for some non-traditional tree colors for a modern and a unique look. Colors like plum, navy, peacock blue, sage green and bronze give a designer look.
Set the theme:
If you are planning to have a theme for Christmas decorations, then you can decide on one. There are many themes to choose from such as snowflakes, angels, frosted feathers, masquerade, shoes etc. The selection of a theme is optional.
Choose the tree:
You can use a fresh Christmas tree or an artificial one. For traditionalists, a natural Christmas tree is the best option. Make sure that the tree is full and place the tree in such a way that the best side of the tree gets the maximum visibility. You can do this by placing it next to a wall. Make sure that the tree is watered so that it looks fresh and not dry.
If you are selecting an artificial one, make sure to adjust the branches and fix it in a way that the joints are not very visible. Make sure that the leaves are straight before proceeding with the next step.
Light up your Christmas tree:
Decorate the tree with Christmas lights. Put the lights in such a way that you rope them in toward the trunk and then out towards the branches. If you wish for the sparkle effect, then you can use a strand of blinking light. Make sure that you add at least 100 mini lights per foot of the tree. You can also add two strands of lights which are a little bigger to the mini lights to get an attractive look.
Add greenery:
Green stems add a lush look to your Christmas tree. You can add stems of different shapes. You can use a bunch of sparkling branches, evergreen branches or a lush evergreen branch with lovely berries.
Add ribbons:
Choosing ribbons and the way to use it is a challenge for many. You can choose based on your love for style and pattern or one which goes with the theme (if you have one). You can add the ribbons in such a way that it runs from the top to the bottom, tucking it into the tree every 2 feet or run the ribbons around the tree in a circle or run it around the trunk.
Add ornaments:
Adding ornaments to the tree is the most fun part when it comes to Christmas decorations. You can try slightly oversized ornaments if you have a taller tree than 7’. You can go for multi-pack ornaments for variety. Choose ornaments ranging from feathers, twigs, butterflies, birds, toys, dolls, gold bells, lockets to shells. You can also go for ornaments that will display your memories by transferring photos into wooden ornaments.
Add tree topper:
The final touch is the tree topper. You can go for traditional tree toppers such as a star, an angel, fancy bows or anything which adds to the elegance of the tree.
And your Christmas tree is ready. But do not forget to wrap gifts.
Wrap gifts:
Now wrap the Christmas gifts with fancy gift wrappers. You can choose different colors and patterns for the wrapper and use ribbons of your choice. The gifts wrapped with pretty wrapping paper with a beautiful bow will look stunning.
