2017 has been a blockbuster year for mutual funds. We have seen a lot of inflows and liquidity. CNBC-TV18's Kevin Lee caught up with Leo Puri, MD of UTI MF and asked him about his outlook for the coming year and for the industry going ahead.

Puri said that the mutual fund flows continue to be heavy, especially because of systematic investment plans (SIPs).

He further said that we will see strong inflows into MFs for at least next two quarters.

According to him, bitcoin rally is speculative frenzy. Bitcoin does not carry a function of value. It is unregulated and can be used for illegitimate means, he added.

Talking about IPO, he said we remain committed about launching an initial public offering (IPO) by early next year.

We are in talks with LIC and other shareholders for approvals relating to IPO, said Puri.
