LIC Housing Finance (CMP: Rs 491; Market Cap: Rs 24,800 crore) reported muted earnings in the fourth quarter of FY21 (Q4 FY21). Net profit declined by 5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) due to higher provisions. Asset quality deteriorated with stage III assets (non-performing assets) increasing sharply. Despite the pressure on asset quality, there were some positive readings on the capital, loan growth and margins front.
