Nifty likely to open lower tracking weak global cues

Globally, US market ended lower amid global growth concerns. Nasdaq closed down over one percent. Asian markets too were trading down in early trade.

    Nifty, which ended at its three week closing low on Tuesday, is likely to open lower tracking weak domestic and global cues. SGX Nifty was trading at 7,753 level, down 28 points at 7:41 AM. In earnings, SKS Microfinance and Jindal Steel & Power will be reporting its fourth quarter numbers today. International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday warned of growing inequality in India and China as the rural-urban divide widens. However, IMF also said that growth in India will continue to grow at healthy 7.5 percent for the next two years. Globally, US market ended lower amid global growth concerns. Nasdaq closed down over one percent. Asian markets too were trading down in early trade. In Europe, markets ended sharply on back of disappointing earnings from leading banks.In currencies, dollar rebounded after renewed prospects of June rate hike. Amongst commodities, crude prices remained steady. Gold, on the other hand, tuned lower after nearing a 15-month old high.
