Indian rupee opens flat at 61.85 per dollar

The Indian rupee opened flat at 61.85 per dollar on Wednesday against 61.86 Tuesday.

The Australian dollar hovered at a four-year low, having been singled out by sellers in an otherwise aimless currency market ahead of the US Thanksgiving holiday.

Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity said, "Rupee is expected to depreciate as dollar continues to trade strong and the month-end dollar demand from oil importers may further hurt the currency. Expect the rupee to be ranged between Rs 61.40-62.20/dollar."
