In yet another volatile session, the Indian benchmark indices snapped tw0-day gains and ended lower with Nifty below 24,350 on October 30 amid selling seen in the banking, metal and IT names.
At close, the Sensex was down 426.85 points or 0.53 percent at 79,942.18, and the Nifty was down 126 points or 0.51 percent at 24,340.85.

The GIFT Nifty is trading lower, indicating a weak start for the day. Nifty futures were trading at 24,305 at 07:00 am IST.

US stock indexes closed lower on Wednesday as chip stocks tumbled and investors awaited a host of corporate earnings.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 91.51 points, or 0.22%, to 42,141.54, the S&P 500 lost 19.25 points, or 0.33%, to 5,813.67 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 104.82 points, or 0.56%, to 18,607.93.

US 10-Year Treasury fell 33 bps at 4.28 percent, while US 2-Year Treasury declined 30 bps at 4.17 percent in the early trade on Thursday.

The U.S. dollar paused ahead of jobs data later this week and the U.S. presidential election next week.
The dollar index, which measures the currency against six major rivals, was little changed at 104.15, after softening the previous day. It hit its highest since July 30 at 104.63 on Tuesday.
