LIC re-designates Chairman Siddhartha Mohanty as CEO and MD

In his nearly four decades in LIC, Mohanty has held several key positions, including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of LIC Housing Finance.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has re-designated Chairman Siddhartha Mohanty as the chief executive officer and managing director, according to a notification on the exchanges on June 30.

“Siddhartha Mohanty, the incumbent chairperson of the Life Insurance Corporation of India shall be the chief executive officer and managing director of the corporation effective from June 30, 2024,” LIC said.

Mohanty had joined the insurance giant as an apprentice officer in 1985. He holds a Bachelor's degree in law and a Master’s degree in arts (Political Science) from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Mohanty also has a post-graduate certification in business management from the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneshwar.

In his nearly four decades in LIC, Mohanty has held several key positions, including that of the chief operating officer and the chief executive officer of LIC Housing Finance and has also served as the senior divisional manager of Raipur and Cuttack, chief (Legal), chief (investment – monitoring and accounting), and executive director (Legal).
