The ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company's initial public offering (IPO) closed for subscription yesterday and was oversubscribed three times on qualified institutional buyer (QIB) support but high net worth individual (HNI) participation was low.
CNBC-TV18's Nisha Poddar caught up with Debasish Purohit of Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA ML) which was one of the lead managers for the IPO and asked him what the selling points were in the absence of a peer comparison.
Purohit said that ICICI Lombard is a market leader; it's a largest private player and at a position which it has maintained since FY04.
