Vikas Ecotech reported its Q2 numbers. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Vikas Garg, MD of the company said some issues with the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST) at the Indian government side impacted the quarterly earnings. However, exports were good, which led to incerase in EBIDA and PAT margins, he said.

“Q3 is generally a lean quarter for the industry but we expect our Q3 performane to be similar to that of Q2,” said Garg.

Speaking about National Green Tribunal (NGT) ban on lead stabilisers, he said, we have not seen any change coming from the pipe industry as such. But if the shift from toxic lead stabiliser to non-toxic stabiliser happens, it will give tremendous boost to Vikas Ecotech's business, he added.

We expect the shift to be slightly gradual, he said.

However, once the NGT order is implemented, at least organised segments – around 60 percent of total pipe industry – should shift to non-toxic lead stabilisers, he said.

The market size one the shift takes place will be 8-10 times the present market, he added.
