Century Textiles and Industries Ltd today posted a standalone net profit of Rs 13.89 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, on account of lower expenses.
The company had reported a net loss of Rs 8.5 crore in the October-December period a year ago.
Total income from operations, however, went down by 7.18 percent to Rs 1,962.54 crore as against Rs 2,114.4 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, Century Textiles and Industries said in a BSE filing.
Total expenses stood at Rs 1,821.89 crore, down 9.99 percent, compared with Rs 2,024.29 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Shares of Century Textiles and Industries were trading 0.19 percent up at Rs 858.10 on BSE.
