PVR received the award for exhibitor of the year by CineAsia. CNBC-TV18's Jude Sannith caught up with Ajay Bijli, CMD of PVR on the sidelines of these awards and asked him about their timeline on screen additions and their outlook for FY18.
We have 600 screens and 600 more under development, said Bijli.
Our target is to build 21 4DX screens by 2019, he added.
Talking about price hike, he said we are not looking at big ticket price-hikes. However, price hikes if any, will only be inflation-driven.
On growth front, he said we will open 80-90 screens per year organically. Inorganic options are also on the table.
We spend approximately Rs 2.5 crore per new screen, added Bijli.
According to him, low ad revenue is an indicator of poor performances at box office.
Not selling any stake to Wanda, he mentioned.
