VE Commercial Vehicles today reported a 9.3 percent increase in total sales in February at 5,499 units.
It had sold 5,032 units in the same period last year.
The company, a joint venture between Sweden's Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, said total sales of Eicher-branded trucks and buses also increased by 9 percent to 5,379 units in February compared to 4,936 units in the corresponding month last year.
In the domestic market, sales of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 4,828 units last month compared to 4,264 units in the year-ago period, up 13.2 percent, VECV said in a statement.
Exports of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 551 units in February as against 672 in the same month last year, down 18 percent.
Volvo trucks sold 120 units last month compared to 96 units in February 2016, up 25 percent, the company added.
